Silver medal František Hrubín proof

This medal was issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of a renowned Czech poet and writer František Hrubín. His best known works include the epos “Romance pro křídlovku“ (Romance for Bugle) and the drama “Srpnová neděle“ (An August Sunday). He also wrote many fairy-tales and rhymes for children.

The obverse side of the medal features a portrait of František Hrubín created on the basis of a photograph. The circumscription reads “František Hrubín" and the anniversary years "1910–1971“.

The reverse side features an illustration to Hrubín’s fairy-tale “O Květušce“ from the book “Špalíček veršů a pohádek“ (A book of verses and fairy-tales), the title of which has also been used in the circumscription on the reverse.
