Replica of John of Pernstein's Kladsko thaler proof

The replica of Kladsko (in German Glatz) thaler of 1542 designed by the original coin is struck from one troy ounce of pure silver. John of Pernstein’s Kladsko coins are exceptional – both in terms of the high quality of craftsmanship and the complete range of denominations from hellers up to silver thalers and gold ducats. This replica is based on the original coin marked 1542 – one of the most beautiful thaler coins minted in the first half of the 16th century.
The obverse side of the coin features two coat-of-arms: on the left (when viewed) is the John of Pernstein’s family coat-of-arms (bison’s head with a withy in its nostrils), next to the emblem of the County of Kladsko. The legend in circumscription in Latin contains full titles of the issuer: JOHAN . BARO . A . BERNSTEIN . IN . HELF[STEIN], i.e. "John of Pernstein and on Helfstein". The reverse side is clearly dominated by the Czech lands coat-of-arms symbolizing that Kladsko is part of the Czech kingdom. The text in circumscription emphasizes the territorial nature of this coinage although due to its character (sterling silver thaler) it was a trading coin that could be paid with anywhere in Europe: MONETA . NO[VA] . COMITATVS . GLACENS[IS] . 1542, i.e. "new coin – County of Kladsko" and the year of mintage 1542.
